Individual or Small Group Hitting or Pitching Instruction @ The Zone Sportsplex

When:  Wednesdays, based on rsvp.  Please reserve at least 5 days ahead

Who: Age group 10-18 (5-7pm)

Cost: $65/hour

What:  Bainbridge Island High School Coach and former NCAA Pitcher/Outfielder Jayson Gore instructs to the players desired focus.  Jayson does a fantastic job and has a steady group of returning players.

Spring Training I & II: 

When:  Thursdays, beginning January 15, 2009.  4 week class.  Due to weather conditions in December causing our previous class to extend, this class now begins on January 15, 2009.

Who: Age groups 8-10 (5-6:30p), 10-12 (6:40-8:10p)

Cost: $115/player.  Register by 12/31/08 and get $10 off.

What:  The courses below are lead by our fantastic coaches that have many years of playing and coaching under their belts.

Spring Training I - This class is for 8-10 year old baseball AND softball players.  This class will get your player prepared for the upcoming season and help build strong fundamentals in hitting and fielding.  We will also have introductory lessons in base-running, pitching and catching during this class.  This class is great to repeat as the players all need repeated work on fundamentals.  The class will run once a week for 90 minutes and is conducted by a team of Zone Sportsplex experienced instructors.  This class will be from 6-7:30pm.  The player to coach ratio will be targeted to be 6:1.  This 4 week class registration fee is $115.  Pre-registration is required so we can ensure proper player/coach ratios.

Spring Training II - This class is for 11-12 year old baseball players.  This class will get your player prepared for the upcoming season and help build strong fundamentals in hitting and fielding.  We will also have introductory lessons in base-running, pitching and catching during this class.  This class is great to repeat as the players all need repeated work on fundamentals.  The class will run once a week for 90 minutes and is conducted by a team of Zone Sportsplex experienced instructors.  This class will be from 6-7:30pm.  The player to coach ratio will be targeted to be 6:1.  This 4 week class registration fee is $115.  Pre-registration is required so we can ensure proper player/coach ratios.

 

All Star Baseball Training: 

When:  Tuesdays, beginning December 16, 2008 - February 24, 2009.  10 week class.  Skipping December 30th, 2008 class due to holidays.

Who: Age group 10-12 (6:30-8:00p).  *Max capacity – 30 players

Cost: $215/player.  Can join in session and get fee prorated.

Instructors: Jayson Gore (current BIHS head baseball coach), Mike Reese (former BIHS and Olympic College head baseball coach), and Ben Palau (youth coach and former college baseball player)

What:  The Zone is offering an Advanced Baseball Training program to prepare “all star” caliber players for their best season ever.  This program is designed to help every athlete maximize their playing potential by utilizing all the skills (mental and physical) necessary to become a better hitter, pitcher and fielder.

Curriculum:  Pitching: Topics covered through instruction and drills include approach, throwing, balance, body control, stride, release point and follow through.  Hitting: Players will learn the finer points of hitting using practice drills covering balance, stance, approach, point of contact and follow through.  Fielding: Learn the proper mechanics of the fielding stance, footwork, balance and the importance of using 2 hands, along with proper throwing techniques
